Native American Blog

For my blog I am going to write about Cherokee indians. The reason I am going to write about this is because I have Cherokee in me. The Cherokee tribe is is detached from the Iroquoain family. Many think that originally the Cherokee indians were form the north but later found in the southern regions. One aspect of the Cherokee culture is there language that has three dialects. One which is Elati where it was spoken in South Carolina and Georgia. A second dialect is Middle which was spoken by the waters of Tuckasegee River  and in western North Carolina. The third dialect is called A'tuli which was spoken in upper Georgia and eastern Tennessee. Most cherokee people speak english but 20,000 people still speak the cherokee language. The housing of the Cherokee people was nothing special. They lived in houses that normally were only big enough for one family. Some of the weapons that the Cherokee indians used were many different types of axes, daggers, and bow and arrows. The man of the tribes were in charge of hunting and war. The women were in charge of farming, property, and family.

  2. Nice blog! It's cool that you are part Cherokee so you got to learn about your ancestry.
