The topic i liked best was the one where i got to tell you what movie i liked best. The topic that i didn't like was the music one for Great Gatsby because i do not like looking at old movies and relating things to one another. I did not put a lot of effort into my blogs and i didn't really learn to much from the blogs that i had to do. The thing I did learn from it was that i learned how to use the internet as a writing source.

Play List
"Ol' Man River" - Oscar Hammerstein II. This song shows the end of the book. In the song it shows the hard times that people faced and the sadness at the end of the book. At the end of the book it is sad because every one is that most people like are killed.
"I Ain't Misbehavin'" - Fats Waller. This song can relate to when Gatsby sees daisy. In the song it states that an individual should only be in love with one person.Daisy is already married and can't share love with him.
Blue Skies" - Irving Berlin. In this song it can show the way that Gatsby lived. In many aspects of life birds are considered to be sign of happiness so in the book Gatsby throws parties all the time and has fun with that.

Miss.Wolff
The advice I would give Miss. Wolff would be to explain more things in terms of what the students would understand. I would also tell her to talk more notes on the board. Meaning that they would be notes to the notes would be in dephth notes so when the students go back and look at their notes for the test they know what they are actually studying about. One last thing I would tell her is not to have students read the books over breaks because many of the students do not actually read them. Along with reading the books, there are many that are hard to understand so i would adivise her to do reading assignmetns by chapters so they can be discussed in class and studnets will have a better understanding of the books.

I chose this quote becasue it has a lot of meaning to it. This quote means to me that I can't go around asking people to give me things that I want. I have to go out and get it myself. Also the people around us owe us nothing just like it said because we don't give them success so why should poeple help us. We need to go out and recieve success by ourselves. I like this poem becasue it shows that we have to work hard and cant expect things from other people around us.

What I Like
My favoirte movie is "Love and Basketball". It came out many years ago but became my favoirte movie from the very first time I saw it. I like this movie a lot because it reminds me of myself playing basketball. Also it would be nice to have a boyfriend who also played basketball and was a huge star. Another reason I like it is because a lot of the dreams she has i can relate to. She was a star at her highschool and then went to a big college as USC then played over seas. Those things are two dreams that i have of my own. I can also relate to the movie because the girl always has a basketball in her hand and i always do too!!!

Riot In Detroit
During the civil rights movement many riots broke out between the white and black community. There was one major one in Detroit Michigan. During the time, the economy was booming. Due to this new things were being built in the city and many black neighborhoods and communities were being taken away. Also all the jobs were going to the white people of the community. The african americans were not getting fair treatment. Crowds gathered and and became hostile. Troops and police had to be brought in to calm things down. Many damage was done. People were killed, and there were over 50 million dollars in damage. President Johnson said that he would work on equal rights but did not stay true to what he said.
Harlem Rennisance
Zora Zeale Hurston did field research on her own people who were African Americans in the Harlem society. Then after she did research in Harlem she moved to areas down south to do more research. Due to the research she had found she was able to tell many stories and write novels. Many of the stories were about the culture and folk traditions. She started out witting short stories then later wrote novels. She became known as one of the greatest witters of the 20th century.
Claude McKay was regarded as one of the first signifigant writters of Harlme Renisance. He wrote many popular books about the times of Harlem Renisance. His book "Home to Harlem" was one of the first books by a harlem writter to reach the best selling list.
