Harlem Rennisance

Zora Zeale Hurston did field research on her own people who were African Americans in the Harlem society. Then after she did research in Harlem she moved to areas down south to do more research. Due to the research she had found she was able to tell many stories and write novels. Many of the stories were about the culture and folk traditions. She started out witting short stories then later wrote novels. She became known as one of the greatest witters of the 20th century.

Claude McKay was regarded as one of the first signifigant writters of Harlme Renisance. He wrote many popular books about the times of Harlem Renisance.  His book "Home to Harlem" was one of the first books by a harlem writter to reach the best selling list.
